Shift filling software is the tool a staffing agency uses to turn an open shift into a confirmed worker. It decides who is eligible to ask, contacts them by call or text, records who said yes and who said no, and marks the shift covered only once a named person has agreed.

It holds the worker records, the client job orders, the shifts, the confirmation history, the hours, and the file that goes to payroll, so the same information is not typed by hand into four separate tools.

Read the full entryApplicant screening is the step between an application arriving and a person being offered work. It checks whether the applicant can do the job, holds the certificates the job requires, can physically reach the site at the start time, and is likely to show up.

Read the full entryCredential gating is a rule that stops a worker being dispatched to a shift unless the certificate that shift requires is on file and unexpired. The check runs at the moment of assignment rather than at audit time, so a lapsed card is caught before the worker travels.
